World’s Fattest Man: Now from UK!

A citizen from Britain, Paul Mason who settled in Ipswich has been awarded as the world’s fattest and heaviest man recently. Weighing 444.5 kg (981 pounds), Mason should be proud that his name is now recorded in the Guinness Book of Records. This aspiration was exposed three years ago after 127 pounds of weight loss after undergoing some treatment at a hospital three years ago. Mason, who is now 48-year-old said he was upset during that time due to he actually wanted the opposite effect. When returning home, he was feeling sad because he was no longer to be the fattest man of the world.

“When arriving home, Mason instantly ordered a pizza, curry and also variety of food from China. He also frequently had been seen in McDonald’s ordering food by using his trademark wheel chair.

“No one can stop the Masons from continually eating and or else, he will be feeling very sad,” an anonymous hospital sources said.

In an effort to fulfill the his dream, Mason had eaten a box of Sugar Puffs at one time and every Friday he will be going to the restaurant during the day and night. Nacton Road Fish Bar Manager in Ipswich, Suffolk, Bob Singh Phagura, said Mason will be waiting at the wheels on the chair outside the store while waiting for her maid finished ordering the food.

“He could not come in because of his body is too large. Mason will buy 10 times more food than any of his customers. He will buy four cods, two pies, four sausages and large chips with curry and peanuts ketchups and swallowed them all with two large water bottles of Coca Cola, “he said.

Essentially, Mason will eat 20.000 food calories a day, eight times double than an average of 2.500 calories food eaten by an ordinary man. He ate three family meals every night and for him a roast chicken is just a dessert. Meanwhile, ex-world’s fattest, Manuel Uribe, 43, was dropping his title because he wanted to lower half of his weight, 571.5 kg for a marriage years ago. In 2004, United States’ fattest guy, Patrick Deuel weighed 489 kg and United Kingdom’s citizen, Barry Austin from Birmingham is only weighed 413 kg. Mason now lives in the special bungalow house exclusively for obese people and lay on top of the bed all the time.

World’s Biggest Chocolate Bar

Switzerland and Belgium may be the world’s most famous chocolate-making countries, but tiny Armenia has just stolen some of their spotlight by creating the largest chocolate bar, ever. more after the break...

The sweet event took place in Armenia’s capital of Yerevan, and was organized by the Grand Candy Factory – a local chocolate making company – as a way to celebrate to celebrate its 10 years of existence. Guinness Book representatives were invited to take part in the unveiling of the chocolate monster created, and to make sure this event goes into the record books.

The giant chocolate bar weighs 4,400 kilograms, is 224 inches long, 110 inches wide, 10 inches thick and is made from cocoa beans from Ghana. In the following weeks, the world’s biggest chocolate down will be chipped into pieces and handed out to freely around Yerevan. The previous record for the world’s biggest chocolate bar was set in 2007, in Italy.

Naaman Amer – World’s Youngest Pepper Eater

20-month-old Naaman Amer, from the city of Nablus, West Bank enjoys eating hot peppers and is considered the world’s youngest pepper eater. The young Palestinian boy has been gobbling down green peppers since he was just 14 months old, and his parents are quite proud of his appetite for the throat-burning veggies. Naaman eats them at every meal, and so far he hasn’t had any health issues, but I still think it’s pretty weird for a boy this young to eat so many hot peppers. More images after the break...

World’s Longest Line of Bicycles

On Oct 3, 2010, some 1,200 bicyclists in Davis, California pedaled their way into what is likely to be a world record for the longest single line of bicycles. The longest-line-of-bicycles category is a new one for the Guinness book, so it's more than likely that Davis has set the record.

Riders from 7 to 97 pedaled a two-mile loop through the bike-crazed college town, home to the U.S. Bicycling Hall of Fame. They traveled up F Street to North Davis Elementary School, where they turned around and rode back to the Odd Fellows Lodge on Second Street. The line of cyclists, riding in single file a few bike lengths apart, stretched for dozens of blocks. Returning riders heading south met up with those riding north near the half-way mile marker.

Passing riders shouted encouragement to one another as fans cheered along the way. The event was also a fund-raiser by the local Odd Fellows Lodge to raise money for the local schools. According to Davis Wiki, some $26,000 were raised in pledges.
The final tally along with statements from official witnesses, a video and news clippings will be submitted to the Guinness organization. Organizers had wanted to host the world's biggest bike parade but felt they couldn't beat an Italian record of more than 48,000 riders, said Judge David Rosenberg, a member of the local Odd Fellows Lodge, which organized the event. Instead they opted for a new category – the longest single line of bikes.
"I pronounce this a world record," Rosenberg said into the microphone. "I'm a judge. I can do that."

The largest permanent hedge maze is the Pineapple Garden Maze at the Dole Plantation in Wahiawa, Hawaii, USA, which has a total area of 12,745.79 m² (3.15 acres) and total path length of 3.962 km (2.46 miles). The maze opened in 1997 and expanded in size in July 2007.
This maze also holds the record for the longest path in a permanent hedge maze.

New York, Oct. 1: To commemorate Breast Cancer Awareness Month, The Estee Lauder Companies' Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign illuminated a total of 38 global historic landmarks in pink lights over a 24-hour period of time, creating a new category and achieving a new Guinness World Record entitled: "Most Landmarks Illuminated for a Cause in 24 Hours." The 24-hour period began at 12:00 pm EST on Thursday, September 30 and ended 12:00 pm EST on Friday, October 1. Guinness World Records made this official announcement on October 1, as Evelyn H. Lauder, Senior Corporate Vice President of The Estee Lauder Companies, and Elizabeth Hurley, Spokesmodel for Estee Lauder and The Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign, illuminated the Empire State Building in pink lights, commemorating an effort that began 11 years ago at the same New York City landmark.

The global record attempt began in Australia on Thursday, September 30th, with the illumination of Federation Square in Melbourne and the National Library of Australia in Canberra. Illumination events then continued around the world including iconic structures such as Taj Mahal Palace & Tower Hotel in India and Burj Al Arab in Dubai, Tokyo Tower in Japan, Las Condes' City Hall in Chile and the Hotel Majestic in France, then culminating with the Empire State Building. Here you have it, the answer to the one burning question that has been at the forefront of everyone's minds since Barack Obama took office and people stopped caring about politics. Oh, people started caring? Oops, my bad. Anyway, these are the top ten lamest Guinness Book records to date.
10. Gordon Mattinson from Cumbria in the U.K. is the world champion gurner. What is gurning? Basically making ugly faces to scare all the kiddies. Who knew that you could win a world title trying to look like some poor schmuck with about every birth defect on record?
9. Jim Lyngvild of Copenhagen, Denmark shattered the previously held record for eating the most Ferrero Rocher chocolates in one minute by achieving an amazing seven. The previous record was... well, there was no previous record, because most people have better things to do.
8. David Ciliberti of Italy wrote a book whose title is 290 words, or 1,433 characters. The full title is in Italian (weird) and goes like this: "Per favore dite a mia madre che faccio il pubblicitario lei pensa che sono un pierre e che quindi regalo manciate di free entry e consumazioni gratis a chi mi pare, rido coi vips, i calciatori le veline e le giornaliste, leggo Novella e mi fotografano i paparazzi, entro neI privé saltando la coda, bevo senza pagare, sono ghiotto di tartine e gin tonic, ho la casa piena di oggetti di design, conosco Paris Hilton, Tom Ford ed Emilio." I have no idea what the hell that means, but it's apparently got something to do with Paris Hilton, which ruins it for any normal human being, so I think it's safe to say this book isn't on anyone's bestseller list.
7. In the same vein, I must have been crazy to think that Guinness Book is just out to document other people's stupid records with complete disregard for their own. This one should probably be on the top of my list, but we'll give them the benefit of the doubt that someone has done something lamer than this. Here goes, number 7: Guinness Book of World Records officially hold the record for the best selling copyright book. Here's the actual plug from the website: "In November 2003, Guinness World Records celebrated the publication of its 100 millionth copy! This confirms that, excluding non-copyright works such as the Bible and the Koran, the definitive book of world records is the world's best selling book. It was first published in October 1955 by Guinness Superlatives, a subsidiary of Arthur Guinness Son Co. (Park Royal) Ltd and has since gone global, selling in some 37 languages.Comparatively, the five Harry Potter books to date have sold over 100 million copies, and Mao Tse-Tung's Little Red Book was sold or given away to around 900 million." Now, go amaze your friends.
6. The largest collection of airplane sick bags (aka hack sacks) is owned by Niek K. Vermeulen of the Netherlands. His collection is 5,468 hack sacks strong. Let's just hope they're not used.
5. Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University in Japan holds the record for most nationalities in a sauna at one time. The number? 57. I think they were just trying to solve the age-old question of which nationality has the biggest wiener.
4. Here's one for all the American patriots. The largest hamburger available for purchase comes from Mallie's Sports Bar & Grill in Michigan. The beast weighs 164.8 pounds and costs $399.00. This is actually a pretty amazing feat if you think about it, but it's on the lamest records list because Americans spend a shitload of time wondering why everyone thinks we're all fat over here. Well, wonder no more.
3. Number 3 is just mindblowing because, after number 4, Michigan couldn't get any fatter, could it? Wrong. The largest sandwich ever was made by Wild Woody's Chill and Grill, also in Michigan, in 2005. It weighed 5,440 pounds. Seriously, that fucker probably went bad before it was eaten, which also proves the point that Americans are wasteful. Rock on, America- complain about stereotypes and then prove them right. Awesome.
2. The record for the most kicks to one's own head is 77. Need I say more?
1. Ahh, number 1... "The record for the most snails to remain on the face for 10 seconds is eight and was achieved by Alastair Galpin (New Zealand) at The Warehouse shop in Sylvia Park, Auckland, New Zealand, on 27 October 2007." Snails, really? Maybe try something truly horrifying, like coconut crabs, or something that moves a little faster and is therefore more difficult to keep in one spot.
There you have it folks... the top then lamest Guiness Book Records. Now, get out there and do something dumber!
